Daughters of the New Moon presents their annual autumn workshops with 2014 guest instructor Karim Nagi!

WHAT: 10 hours of workshops with master instructor, performer, and musician Karim Nagi
WHERE: Downtown JRC/Alaska Club, Juneau, AK

Workshops available: Thursday 9/25: Rhythm for Dancers at 7:10pm; Saturday 9/27: Dabke (Arabic Line Dance) at 12:30pm, Maqam and Taqsim for Dancers at 3pm; Sunday 9/28: Dancer-Drummer Communication at 12:30pm, and Cymbalism (finger cymbals) at 3pm.

Never danced before? Give the Dabke class a try and get introduced to the Palestinian circular line dance of steps, stomps, and hops done at social gatherings by both men and women. Learn to get down and lead the line in true Arabic style!

Want to get some experience under your hip belt before signing up for more workshops (or just because you've always wanted to try)?
Need to brush up on your finger cymbal tik, tok, and trill techniques for the Cymbalism workshop?

Kalirah is offering a 7-week beginning bellydance class starting August 4, 2014! It will cover basic movements, combinations, and finger cymbal accompaniment.
