We are looking for a few good families (Tenakee Springs, AK)
The Tenakee Springs Advisory School Board would like to invite an adventure seeking family to come live in Tenakee Springs, Alaska for a school year, or longer.
Do you like the outdoors? Love beautiful scenery and living on the waterfront? Does great hunting, abundant fishing, and endless hiking opportunities appeal to you? Do you crave a simpler life free of cars, crime and violence? Do you want to raise your children in a safe environment where they learn to work and play hard, be responsible, respect others and develop lifelong friendships? Are you tired of large schools where your children are lost in the crowds and where bullying and sub standard teaching is the norm? Are you civic minded and like to pursue your dream of being part of an Alaskan rural community?
If yes, Tenakee Springs may be your answer!

The town features a bath house on a hot mineral spring for public bathing, several large historic structures including Snyder Mercantile, The Shamrock Building, the newly restored St Francis Chapel, a Community Center, a Fire Hall, a boat harbor and an exceptional school facility. Outdoor activities include but are not limited to hunting, fishing, sailing, kayaking, hiking, skiing and bird and whale watching.

With high speed wireless internet available throughout the town, telecommuting and self employment ventures are a great way to earn a living while raising your family in a healthy, safe environment.
